The perception of the intricacies, the layouts.
The details.
the feelings, and the appearances.
Or the lack thereof.
a room’s environmental feel
or a human’s seductive appeal
may affect our thoughts and our brains
either help us cut free, or strengthen the chains
Hold us back or push us forward
build up our minds and tear down our walls
or lock us into binds, and break us til we fall
A room, a glance, just one moment with it
can change us forever so we never forget it
So too, can we change ourselves?
Can we change how we feel about a space?
Can an abandoned room, unlit, dusty, and derelict
become inviting and warm, through straightforward respect?
This room isn’t broken more than any other space
its simply dusty from lack of a friendly face
of someone to use it and to clean it up right
and a helpful assistant for replacing the light
This dark, poorly lit room may not be so inviting
but as we learn more about it
it may be the most inviting space of all
Might be that same quirk, that same “damage” that we found at first,
is actually its most endearing trait.
The overarching, ever-present facet,
holds inside everything that makes it great.
Despite the exterior, the interior is first-rate
Welcoming and warm, caring and free.
The deterrent on the outside leads people to hesitate
but those who know, understand there’s more that meets the eye.
